Gaviscon Advance Peppermint Liquid has been specifically formulated for the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux. These symptoms include acid regurgitation, heartburn, and indigestion which may occur following meals or during pregnancy, and in those who display symptoms of oesophagitis. This oral suspension belongs to a group of medicines called reflux suppressants which form a protective 'raft' on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping into the esophagus (food pipe) which causes pain and discomfort. As Gaviscon Advance works physically (rather than by entering the bloodstream) it is suitable for use in pregnancy too. How to Use Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: Take 5 - 10ml (one to two 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime. Composition Sodium Alginate Ph Eur 1000mg. Potassium Hydrogen Carbonate Ph Eur 200mg. Also contains: Calcium Carbonate. Carbomer. Methyl (E218) & Propyl (E216) Parahydroxybenzoates. Sodium Saccharin. Sodium Hydroxide. Peppermint Flavouring. Purified Water. Pack 300 mL
